Ready to play? Great! There are two ways to play RSW:
With friends. You can play a great RSW game with any number of players--two or more. Contact the friends you think might be interested in joining you in a game. You and your friends should decide amongst yourselves how many people are interested in playing, and what kind of game you'd like to play.
When you're ready, click the Play button at the top of the page, and then click the red "New" button to add a new game. Follow the instructions to create a new game, then share the new game ID to all of your friends, and they can click the Game signup link to enter that game ID. The game has begun!
With other RSW players. There is a community of players active in RSW, each with varying levels of experience. Some are new players, like yourself, while others might have dozens of games under their belt. What better way to learn the subtleties of the game, than to get involved in the game with an RSW expert?
Click the Play button and scan the list of available games that other people have created. If one of them seems appealing, click on its game ID to sign up! If there aren't any available games that suit you, feel free to click the "New" button. Then wait for other players to sign up for your game. When the game's roster has filled up, the game will begin!
Note that there is no single-player version of the game. RSW is first and always a game between humans, built on the belief that there's no opponent more challenging, or more devious, than a human opponent. (You can, however, create a one-player game for yourself, just to try out the mechanics of the game while you wait for the real game to start.)
If you've decided to play an RSW Core game, see the sample walk-through and the Quick Strategy Guide for this game. If you're playing an RSW Classic game, it has its own sample walk-through and Strategy Guide.
