Many of the complexities of RSW Classic are absent from the RSW Core game. There are no character types to worry about, no metal to haul, no population or industry, and no artifacts. The game boils down to just worlds, fleets, and ships, and everyone starts out on an equal footing.
Each player gains points strictly for owning worlds; the player who captures and keeps the most worlds from the other players will win the game. Specifically, each player earns 20 points per turn for each world that they own at the end of that turn. All worlds are the same.
Each player starts the game with one world and five fleets.
