That is, the Emperor gets extra points for owning the Imperial Sceptor, while the Raider gets extra points for owning the Savage Cutlass, and so on. In addition to the bonus points each character class gets for owning its one special artifact, each character class also gets some points (though not quite as many) for owning an artifact which has at least one word in common with that character classes' special artifact; for instance, a Positronix will get some points for owning a Metallic Grail or an Mythical Conduit.
Furthermore, each player (except a Collector) will lose points for owning any of the Cursed artifacts, even if is the player's special object noun. (A Positronix loses points for owning a Cursed Conduit, even though it is a Conduit.)
The following table shows the per-turn score value for each artifact. Collectors earn points based on a different table from all of the other character types.
For non-Collectors (except Architect):
Your one "greatest treasure" (e.g. a Positronix holding the Metallic Conduit) | 15 |
Any half-treasure, except Cursed (e.g. a Positronix with a Metallic Grail or Mythical Conduit) | 5 |
Any Cursed item | -10 |
Any of the five Key to Time segments | 0 |
The Rock of Diamante | 10 |
The Rhinovirus | -15 |
The Philosopher's Stone | 20 |
The Deadly Nightshade | -30 |
The Pandora's Box | 0 |
Any other artifact | 0 |
For Collectors:
Your one "greatest treasure" (that is, the Antique Sculpture) | 90 |
Any half-treasure, except Cursed (any Antique or Sculpture) | 30 |
Any Cursed item | 0 |
Any of the five Key to Time segments | 0 |
The Rock of Diamante | 30 |
The Rhinovirus | 30 |
The Philosopher's Stone | 30 |
The Deadly Nightshade | 30 |
The Pandora's Box | 30 |
Any other artifact | 15 |
Note that the Architect, a character type available in the Advanced game, makes no distinction between artifact types, and earns a uniform 5 points per turn for each artifact, including Cursed artifacts.
The above points are awarded each turn that you hold one of the indicated items. In addition, there are special bonus points that are awarded, once, at the end of the game, for holding a matched set:
For non-Collectors:
Ending with all five segments of the Key to Time (includes Architect) | 1000 |
Ending with all nine artifacts of your special type (e.g., for a Positronix, all the Metallic objects) | 500 |
Ending with all nine artifacts of your special noun (e.g., for a Positronix, all the Conduit objects), except Cursed | 500 |
For Collectors:
Ending with all five segments of the Key to Time | 1500 |
Ending with all nine artifacts of your special type (all the Antique objects) | 1000 |
Ending with all nine artifacts of your special noun (all the Sculpture objects), except Cursed | 1000 |
