Question about Cargo

Post by Bubble »

Hi all,

I'm new to this game but played other starweb-like games before.

I'm testing a one player game to get familiar with RSW, with a Positronix. I'm surprised that some fleet of mine have cargo above there ship count. I thought that only trader could have more cargo than ships on a fleet (to the limit of twice that count, I believe).
F1[BUBBLE]=5 (Moved,Cargo=6)

Is there a bug of some sort, or did I miss some subtlety in the rules ?

Regards,

Bubble, another blurry telescope

It is true, this is normally impossible for a Positronix. Unless Pandora's Box is somehow involved. :)

Thanks for your reply !

Indeed, I happen to have a Black Box aboard, does it belong to that old witch ? :)

Does it affect all of my fleets ? Because I had a few of the overloaded and still have at that turn (seems to be only on the word with the black box, but I'll check in futur turns).

Code: Select all

W5 (1,14,18) [BUBBLE] (Industry=30/14,Metal=14,Mines=2,Population=50R,
      Limit=100,Turns=7,I-Ships=7)  V18:Arcturian Crown
      V22:Ancient Pyramid  V27:Vegan Pyramid  V34:Golden Lodestar
      V49:Radiant Shekel  V55:Titanium Sword  V62:Ancient Sepulchre
      V95:Titanium Sphinx
   F1[BUBBLE]=5 (Moved,Cargo=6)       <----- there
   F3[BUBBLE]=1 (Moved)
   F4[BUBBLE]=1 (Moved,Cargo=1)
   F10[BUBBLE]=6 (Moved,Cargo=6)  V61:Platinum Sepulchre
     V75:Titanium Moonstone  V87:Vegan Stardust  V100:Black Box
   F11[BUBBLE]=1 (Moved,Cargo=3)     <----- and there
   F13[BUBBLE]=6 (Moved)
   F14[BUBBLE]=4 (Moved,Cargo=3)  V88:Arcturian Stardust
   F16[BUBBLE]=1 (Moved,Cargo=1)
   F19[BUBBLE]=1 (Moved,Cargo=1)
   F22[BUBBLE]=1 (Moved,Cargo=1)
   (F9[BUBBLE]-->W18 F12[BUBBLE]-->W1 F17[BUBBLE]-->W1)

The Box will occasionally affect all of the fleets at the same world, so this sort of thing is well within the Box's capabilities.

I wont spoil here this effect of the box, but actually ... I find it potentially very powerful and unbalancing.

Thanks for your help david :)

I'm back with my question, because I don't understand why I got an error in my order and still have that extra cargo capacity

I had a fleet (20) of 4 ships with 4 metal aboard. My load order was rejected, but other fleet still loaded extra metal without trouble. Is there a check of capacity rejecting orders before checking Box's effects ?

In the order list I got :

Code: Select all

  F20L <No more room for more metal on F20>
In my mail report I got :

Code: Select all

   F4[BUBBLE]=1 (Moved,Cargo=8)
   F5[BUBBLE]=2 (Moved,Cargo=3)
   F10[BUBBLE]=10 (Moved,Cargo=11)
   F14[BUBBLE]=6 (Moved,Cargo=11)  V88:Arcturian Stardust
   F19[BUBBLE]=1 (Moved,Cargo=2)
   F20[BUBBLE]=4 (Moved,Cargo=4)  V6:Slippers of Venus
     V80:Plastic Stardust  V99:Radiant Sphinx
