RSW version 0.96

Post by drwr »

There's just so much good stuff in this release, I can't even decide what's most exciting to call attention to. It's all great.

We're getting awfully close to version 1.0, both numerically and functionally.
Version 0.96:

* Empire Builders no longer get 10 points per world owned. They
still earn points per world according to the rest of their point
schedule.

* Each artifact is now worth its standard number of points in
every game, regardless of number of worlds in the game. Instead
of scaling artifact points, we scale the number of artifacts.

* You can now pan around the map with the middle mouse button or
with alt + left mouse button.

* Finally tracked down and fixed the bug causing popup order menus
to eventually stop appearing.

* New "Delete orders" item on popup orders menu allows easy
deletion of previously-entered orders.

* The end-of-game report is no longer downloaded automatically
into the client at game end. Instead, you must pick this option
from the menu if you want it, but when you do pick it, it will
download the complete game history.

* Message bodies are now shown directly below the message header
list, similar to the model used by many popular mail clients.

* Added game option to disable the coloring of message bodies by
the player color.

* Added "Remove bogus worlds" map option.

* Added "Owner + Fleets" map color mode.

* Added "Stand by for ambush" order for fleets. This order isn't
necessary, since it's what fleets would do in the absence of any
orders, but issuing it clarifies the distinction between a fleet
intended to ambush and one that was simply overlooked.

* The world number is drawn outside the world circle when the
selected world size property would draw the world as a tiny dot.

* Selecting a fleet in a popup world window also selects it in the
primary game window.

* Reduced game chug from timer-based game status checks.

* Fixed client crash related to typo in order entry.

* More fixes to importing order lists from other players.

* Fixed bug causing window sizes to get reset to their default
values when you switch between different machines.

* Better automatic timezone detection (webserver only).

* Upgraded to wxPython 2.8.6.1 (Windows client only).

* Added "Turn Phases" page to manual, with thanks to Dan
MacDonald.

* Further simplification to Export window.
