As indicated by the vote preference, I've changed orthodox6o to run when all players have submitted their orders.

Re: RSW Client installation
No, there should be no open ports needed. RSW just makes an outgoing connection to the RSW server. Hmm, I've just tried setting up a clean VM with Windows Firewall and Avast free anti-virus, and it was able to launch and run RSW Client without issues. So, it's not that, or at least not only that. Do...

Re: RSW Client installation
Hi Mat! Welcome to RSW! I'm not sure what's going wrong with your client, but let's see if we can figure it out. It shouldn't be a compatibility issue; the client is compiled for Windows 10 and should run fine on any Windows 10 machine. One possibility is that somehow the client database is corrupt....

Re: rswgame 2.0?
I'd love to have such a thing, because people expect games to be played in-browser these days. The world seems to be leaning hard against downloaded game clients. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case at the time I wrote the current game client, in the early 2000's; there was no such thing as an in-br...

Re: End game score
For the record, the end-of-score table has been adjusted since this post, and currently looks like this: EndOfGameScore = { -5: (2000, 3000), -4: (4500, 5500), -3: (5500, 6000), -2: (6000, 6500), -1: (6500, 7000), 0 : (7000, 8000), 1 : (8000, 9000), 2 : (9000, 10000), 3 : (10000, 11000), 4 : (12000,...

Re: Provisional / standard map sets
A game description paragraph looks something like this: catalyst6f is pending. Created 20 May 2020, last activity 20 May 2020. Game type Advanced. Runs every 1 weeks at Monday 01:00 AM PDT, or when all players have submitted orders. 1 players have joined, waiting to have 8 players. Begins when 7 mor...

Provisional / standard map sets
RSW players, I've just reviewed the user-provided game maps that were in "provisional" map sets and moved several of them into the "standard" set, so they'll be available to be selected in standard "classic" or "advanced" games in the future without tagging th...

Re: WTF - I have been turfed oiut of a game??
My apologies for the problems! I don't know what happened here, but I was able to work with Jim to get him back into the game via the signup link. Please let me know if this sort of thing happens to anyone else in the future!

Re: Server appears to have crashed
Ah, my apologies again. I just ran turn 37 again, this time it stuck. The original turn 37 email should be disregarded in favor of the new one.

If you drop from the game now, leaving Ted the last one in, he will be declared the de facto winner automatically.

tailored3g turn delay
A player in tailored3g has requested that, in order to accommodate their travel, we pause the game for two weeks after the Feb 16 turn, so that the turn originally scheduled to run on Feb 23 will instead run on Mar 8. I agree that putting the game on hold is generally better for everyone in it than ...

Re: Client keeps crashing
Great! If the client doesn't offer you the upgrade when you get home, you might be running the 32-bit version there for whatever reason. In that case, go to the Clients page and explicitly download the 64-bit version.

Re: Client keeps crashing
Oh, and to be clear, the update is only in the 64-bit version. The nature of the bug that I fixed was that the 64-bit version of the client was running partly with a 32-bit limit. To pick up the fix, you'll need to switch to the 64-bit version if you're not already using it (and looking at the logs,...

Re: Client keeps crashing
OK, I did actually find and fix a real issue that could cause a crash with large game files, so I went ahead and posted a new official client update, 1.0.8.3. It should offer you this version to download; please let me know if it seems to solve the problem for you.
