It does sound like a useful feature to allow teammates to enter orders for an absent player, but at the moment there is no such option. Each player is responsible for entering his/her own orders. It sounds like a general incompatibility with XP, probably a missing system DLL or something. To fix it, I'll have to dig up an XP machine myself, and use that to build a new client installer.
