thanks duck
[I wander. Read through to end. I think my question is solved?] I'm not sure how I missed it before. Now every xml file I save (via client or download from web page) includes the px and py attributes for worlds. Is it possible that the coordinates started showing up after I started using File/Save t...

map export with world positions?
I'm pretty sure I once saw a map export file that contained the positions of worlds on the map. Including the x/y coordinates that I've dragged the worlds to. The memory sticks because I think I had to remove the lines by hand or script for some purpose I've now forgotten. Does that kind of map expo...

rubber duckie
Thanks ducks! That worked pretty well.
refinement: keep each map section "game" going so you can import later turns as updates. So you don't need to do as much map organization. And reorganize the primary map a bit to facilitate future sector selections.

export selected & fudge name
I think I'm getting closser.
1) select worlds I'd like for a separate map
2) export, selected worlds only
3) change the gameId in the file
4) File/Import, in the RSW Client Game List window
5) print fit-to-page map
6) celebrate

alternatively,
Or is there a way to not auto-scale the entire map to one 8.5"x11" page? It's my fault. My empire is too large. With the autoscale map, worlds and fleets are too small to see. Here is my current procedure. I'm just wondering if anything can be streamlined. In the client, Print Map to SVG. ...

create standalone maps?
I like the regular map that gets auto-updated from the server per game. I'd like to create separate maps for different purposes. Maybe just my area. or other selected worlds. Can I create a new/separate standalone map from an xml file? And... so I don't bug the forum with every question, is there he...

sad news indeed
I have been playing Starweb and its offspring since I was in high school (long time ago). So much fun, so many good memories. I met Rick once at the Great White North Starweb Tournament hosted by the Flying Moose folks. It was a treat that Rick was able to play with us since turns were submitted on ...

get turn status with Constellette
I like to keep an eye on how many players haven't turned in their orders... and try not to be last. To make this easy to check, I've created a Mac OS X Dashboard widget that does just that. Re: a-ok by me!
[As a member of one of those delayed games,] Sounds great. I was a little surprised when I didn't find a turn in my mailbox this morning, but figured I'd find an explanation here. and did. and a good one. Keep up the great work. But not this weekend.

nighttime restriction welcome
The schedule has been ok -- mostly because it seems like the middle-of-the-night turn seems to wait the full 4.8 hours, so the surrounding turns end up being something like 11pm and 8am (I'm on the east coast). But if varies from day to day, and it would be a lot easier if I knew nothing could happe...
